- Erin Brockovich’s aggressive pursuit does stem from the fact that she is a single mother. Honestly, who can blame her? When someone’s family is in need, many take drastic measures in order to support their family, which is why Erin may be seen as “pushy.” Although she clearly has no sense of “right” based on her sense of style, behavior, and carefree personality, she still finds a way to do what she has to in order to survive.
- My first impression of Ed Masry was that he was not a serious lawyer, nor took Erin’s case in a serious matter. He started off by calling the accident “one hell of a mistake” on the Doctor’s part. I soon made the assumption that he was not a professional, based off the fact that he did not prepare Erin as well as he could've, or build his statement well. He also did not return Erin’s calls after the case. I do believe that all attorneys should take every case, no matter the client, with equal integrity, however, I do understand that many attorneys view money as a representation of the client himself/herself, which Erin’s money and appearance did not portray her in a god light.
- Merriam Webster defines “work ethic”, as “a belief in work as a moral good.” Erin’s work ethic is very inspirational as she gives her full commitment, and she is driven to get to the bottom of the case. She doesn’t see herself as any less than Ed Masry (and I don’t blame her), as she did most of the investigation work and discovered the issue itself. She works her best and her hardest, and her personality does influence her work ethic.
- She has no sense of what is considered professional or right behavior when meeting with the PG&E attorneys. She states that their offer of 20 million dollars “pisses me off,” and “isn’t shit.” She then states that the water that they have been drinking was brought in from the well in Hinckley. I agree with Erin’s perspective, and I believe her actions were bold. She did give the attorneys a taste of their own medicine as they clear refusal of drinking the water is evidence enough.
