Max Honzel - Erin Brockovich

1. Erin Brockovich is very motivated to find a job because of her personal situation. Her children and life struggles actually help her find a job because she is so desperate. Erin's sense of right or wrong is much greater than the average American's, she actually wants to help people that are struggling. Many attorney's believe that clients are only good for money, rather than truly wanting to help them. Erin Brockovich truly wants to help the people that are having issues. Erin is very pushy in the way that she gets her job at the law firm, but this is all so that she can survive and help her kids.

At the beginning of the film, Ed Masry seems to be an attorney that only cares about the money from his clients, rather than actually wanting to help them. Ed Masry worked very hard for the case with Erin Brockovich, and I believe that a lot of this had to do with money. However, I think that Ed realized that he truly could help people and Erin was in it for more than money. This influenced Masry's decisions and in the end made him care for his clients. Attorney's should give the same service to every client no matter their income. If they are willing to take a case then they should be willing to work as hard as they can to solve it, no matter the amount of money they are doing it for.

3. Erin Brockovich has one of the greatest work ethics I have ever seen. Erin is willing to work around the clocks for her clients, even though Ed Masry didn't actually assign her to this job. Erin takes initiative and proves that she can do research and help around the office as well. She believes that if she proves herself she will be able to get a steady job there and work on real cases. When Erin does as much work as she does, Ed realizes that this is true. Erin wants to do as good of a job as she can to prove that she is more than just Masry's secretary.

4. During the meeting with PG&E, the attorneys representing PG&E offer 20 million dollars, saying this is more than the people of Hinkley have ever dreamed of. Erin Brockovich is very offended by this, and brings up specific cases and symptoms that the water has given the people of Hinkley. She then asks the attorneys how much certain body parts of theirs would be worth to them, then asks them to multiply it by 100. Anything less than that they won't take the offer. I completely agree with Erin's perspective because the people of Hinkley are living through horrific illnesses because of the water. She brings up very good points and leaves the attorney's speechless because they realize how immoral their side is, and that Erin actually has a legitimate point.
