Erin Brockovich Questions

1) Erin Brockovich's situation strongly affects the way she has to act. She is a single mother with three kids and she needs a job in order to feed them and pay the bills. She really needs a job because of her personal situation but her situation also don't let her get a job: a single mother with three kids is not considered a good and reliable employ. Considered her true need to get a job in order to support her family, her aggressive pursuit of a job is completely normal. Her experiences and type of life has made her have a strong sense of what is right and what is wrong. Eris is pushy but she is only because that is also way she can survive. Thus, it's not really about her own personality but how this has been impacted by her own life situation.

2) Ed Masr's personality completely change throughout the movie. At the beginning, he looked way more distant from his clients like Erin Brockovich case of the car incident. He didn't really had any interest in his clients but he was more focused on gaining money and on his own profit. When he lost Erin Brockovich case, he just said he was sorry without meaning. It's almost as if his clients only represented a case with a revenue instead than true people with real feelings and problems he could have helped with. This changed when he gets to know Erin Brockovich better. I think attorneys should give the same service to every client regardless the revenue that client represents.  An attorney is supposed to help people regardless of money because even a simple case as a car incident, which might not seem like an important case to an attorney, might be essential to a client. Attorney should really focus on looking at clients like PEOPLE, not money.

3) Erin Brockovich has an amazing work ethic. She truly believed on her job and her case as a moral good and she sacrificed most of her time and energy in order to be successful at it. She sees herself more Mr Masry's secretary or a temporary employ but she sees herself as a person who had the ability to help other people and she dedicates all herself for it. This influence how she does her job because she is not looking to sit in a desk the required hours to get her paycheck but she wants to more a difference. She knows that she has the power to relate with the other people affected by her case and she understands their situation. This is something that the attorneys don't have and it's what will make this case successful.

4) During the PG&E's attorneys meeting, Erin argues that the number of money offered by them is completely unacceptable. She reminds them that we are not just talking about a random number of money but about the value of a human life. A human value that might have been ruined and that there is no way to repay but that it must at least been taken with the real value that it is. She challenges the PG&E's to think how much their own health or part of a body is worth and then to multiply that number by 100, which is the number of people that are sick. I completely agree with Erin's perspective and I am going to remind myself of her teachings. It's easy to loose the perspective of our own humanity but we must take Erin's as an example.
