- I do believe that Erin Brockovich’s aggressive pursuit of a job stem from the fact that she is a single mother and struggling to support her family. The fact that Erine lives a very simple but financially disadvantaged life, her sense of what is right or wrong is greater than the average American’s because she didn’t grow up learning about the right or wrong which makes it greater than the average American’s. Erin is pushy but none of the people would understand because they don’t come from what Erin comes from, her being pushy will help her get things that she wants. If you have a three kids, no one helping you pay the bills or taking care of the kids, you will be pushy to get something because there is no time to wait.
- Attorney Mr. Masry at the beginning was seeing his clients as just money signs that’s why Mr. Masry got Erin as a client so he can get money off her case. I don’t think that Mr. Masry worked as hard on Erin’s case than other clients who might have been million dollar corporations because all Mr. Masry care about was money, he didn’t care about Erin being a single mother with 3 kids all he cared about was the money that he was going to get off her case.
- Erin’s work ethic is high because she wants to prove to people that she is capable of doing what other people do without the educational background. I do think that Erin sees herself more than just a temporary employee because of all the time and effort that she has put into the job, also she is scared of losing this job and wants to reassure her spot in the company. Erin sees herself as Mr. Masry’s partner not her secretary or assistant because she doesn’t allow him to treat her as a secretary or assistant. It influences the way Erin does her job because she feels important, needed, and looked up to so she has to produce very good work to keep her title.
- I agree with Erin’s perspective on PG&E and the amount of money they had to pay for the victims because of the horrible things that this company made them go through. The attorney for PG&E were not worried about the case because they didn’t think it was a really big deal, that is why when Erin asked for 20 million dollars they thought it was too much money on a case that was really a big deal. Erin knowing her facts about the water having Chromium-6 which is a chemical that causes cancer made the attorney’s from PG&E know that the case was actually a big one.
