Abby Miles- Erin Brockovich

  1. Yes she is aggressively trying to get a job because she has to support her three kids and she is a single mother so she needs this job in order to provide for them. She doesn’t exactly know what is right and wrong with things dealing in the workplace, such as how she dresses and how she talks to authority, this probably does stem from her financial situation because she is doing what she can to get that job even if it means swearing. She can tend to be very pushy she came into the place she was applying to get a job at after calling several times and demanded that they give her a job but this all goes back to her having to provide for her children.
  2.  Ed Masry gave off a bad impression at the beginning of the film. Obviously Erin did not come from money and he would not earn a lot off of her case he did not try hard enough. He could have easily won the case for her, he slacked off and didn’t try as hard as he would if he were defending a company with millions of dollars. I think everyone should be given the same treatment regardless of what they client will bring to the firm in terms of revenue. It is unfair to not do your job as a lawyer and work hard for your client because they aren’t rich.
  3. I think Erin is very hardworking and has a good work ethic, although she does not always listen to her boss’ authority she really took in interest in the PG&E case. She worked very hard, she went on trips and did a ton of investigating into the case because she knew what was right. She was not going to let the people continue to be poisoned by the water and because of this she risked relationships with her kids. To risk that she is obviously a very hard working women. I don’t think she necessarily thinks of herself as more than just an assistant to Mr. Masry I think she is just trying to do whatever it takes to make money for her family.
  4. I completely agree with Erin perspective, she put them in the shoes of the plantiffs. She especially had a compelling argument when she said that the water had come from a well in Hinkley and not even the people defending PG&E wanted to drink the water because they knew it had been contaminated. She caught them there and made them think about what was truly right and wrong, and they learned then that they were not going to get away with giving the plantiffs that little money. She appealed to their sense of right and wrong by saying 'how much would you like you be paid for your uterus' to the attorney, because that is truly what is happening with all the plantiffs.
