Sophie Young
1. Morgan and Alex were surprisingly good at budgeting, which was unexpected because of how much money they have normally. The only time it got a bit shaken up was when the children got involved. That is understandable because of how much Morgan cares for these kids, he wants to make sure they have a reasonable lifestyle (if only for a day) even if it means losing money in the long run. They both got jobs the second day they started which may have had something to do with the camera crew following them around, in such a poverty stricken neighborhood, publicity is important.
8. The "working poor" are those who are living in poverty but are working multiple jobs to support their families. These people are in an endless cycle. They work hard but get paid below or at minimum wage, which isn't something to live on, especially if children are involved. They then fall into debt, and need to work to pay it off. But again, they can't get out of the cycle.

ReplyDeleteDaniel Patino: Great definition on describing the "working poor" Sophie! I agree that they are people that are in an endless cycle. People on minimum wage are always working, no rest.
